Fr Elijah's Cameron Appeal

Fr Elijah has asked us to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has kindly donated clothes and other items. Your generosity has been overwhelming.

In order to now transport all of your donations to the Cameron Fr Elijah now has to hire a container. This is very costly and in order to help him with this there will be a basket at the back of our churches over the next three weeks for anyone who would like to give something to support Fr Elijah with the transport cost.

Thank you

Are you caring for someone with Mental Health issues?

If you or someone you know are caring for someone with mental health issues (who is under the Community Mental Health Team), a new carer support group will be starting in Hedge End.

This is supported by NHS Mental Health services (CMHT), the mental health charity MIND and people with lived experience as carers. The first meeting will take place in the hall at Our Lady of the Assumption in Hedge End on Wednesday, 18th May from 7pm to 8:30pm.
For further information please contact Jane 07761 039330.

May is the Month of Mary

During the month of May, why not consider some devotions to Our Lady…

Pray the Holy Rosary: Outside of the Mass, there is no prayer more pleasing to Our Lady and more efficacious for her intercession than the Holy Rosary.

Wear the Miraculous Medal: When Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Laboure and gave her the vision of the Miraculous Medal in 1830, she promised great graces to those who would wear the medal.

The Brown Scapular: The Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel has special prayers and graces associated with it, namely the famous “Scapular Promise” that those who die wearing Our Lady’s scapular will not spend eternity in hell.

The Five First Saturdays: Our Lady spoke of the Communion of Reparation devotion of the Five First Saturdays at Fatima on 13 July 1917, to pray for the conversion of Russia and she promises to assist those souls who make this devotion “at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation”.

Confirmation Journey 2022

In the last session we explored who Jesus is both as a physical human being who walked this earth and as the Son of God.

By focusing on Jesus' earthly life, we were able to understand how he experienced the full range of what it is to be human. We moved on to his heavenly nature and his promises to be with us always. We discussed how we can grow in our relationship with Jesus into a life giving and fulfilling part of our lives.

Serving Singers Choir

We would like to start a Singing Group at Our Lady of the Assumption Church to sing songs, hymns and choral music.
If you would like to join, or even lead, the group we will be delighted to hear from you. Those who can bring/play musical instruments will also be very welcome.
We tentatively plan to meet every Thursday 7.00-9.00pm in the hall at Our Lady of Assumption Church. If you are interested, please email

First Reconciliation &

First Holy Communion Preparation

Following the delays due to COVID restrictions during 2020, we are pleased to announces that twenty of our children/young people from our three churches began their Sacramental Preparation in September 2021.

We are so thankful that the sessions have been proceeding unhindered and these young people are now in the final preparation stage to celebrate their first Reconciliation at the beginning of Lent.
